I am here because I care.

My Story…

More than ten years ago, I decided to change careers from finance to nursing after feeling helpless as I watched a family member struggle in the hospital. Observing my brother's nurse care for him with expertise and compassion inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare. Having been a patient and a family member of a patient, I understand the importance of empathy and the positive impact a skilled clinician can have on someone's well-being. I knew I wanted to be able to provide that support.

After working with adult inpatients for several years, I transitioned to Boston Children's Hospital where I worked in the ICU and Cardiac OR. While there, I decided to further my education and began a Family Nurse Practitioner program. However, shortly after starting, I learned that I was pregnant with twins. Despite this, I continued with the program. A few months later, my husband received orders to deploy overseas with the Marine Corps for a year. After assessing my priorities during such a challenging time, I decided to put my NP program on hold.

During that year, I discovered a lot about myself. Although I valued traditional medicine, I felt that something was missing in my approach to healthcare. I desired more knowledge in nutrition and a holistic approach to preventative care, focusing on identifying the root causes of health concerns rather than treating the symptoms. As a result, I pursued a coaching certificate in nutrition, fitness, and wellness. After completing the certificate, I decided to transfer to a program focusing on functional medicine and nutrition. While I may eventually return to finish my NP program, I am forever grateful for this chosen path.

My Journey…

As a nurse, I have always been fascinated by the relationship between health and nutrition. I saw firsthand how diet and lifestyle choices could impact a patient's health, and I became determined to learn more about the role of nutrition in promoting overall well-being.

This led me to pursue further education and certification in nutrition, where I deepened my knowledge of the science behind healthy eating and the impact of food on the human body. I learned about the power of whole, nutrient-dense foods in supporting the body's natural healing processes and reducing inflammation, as well as the importance of gut health and the role of micronutrients in overall health.

As a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), I now bring my knowledge and expertise to my clients, working with them to develop individualized, sustainable nutrition plans that support their health goals. I believe that by empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed, healthy choices, I can help them achieve optimal health and wellness.

I am committed to staying current on the latest research and advancements in nutrition and functional medicine, and to provide my clients with the highest quality care. Whether you are seeking to improve your overall health, manage a chronic condition, or simply adopt a healthier lifestyle, I am here to help. Let's work together to achieve your health goals and improve your well-being!

My Why…

I Sometimes, I find myself wondering what my life would have been like if I had the knowledge I have now during those times when I was experiencing frequent migraines, acne, canker sores, severe menstrual cramps, GI bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, brain fog, postpartum joint pain, and eczema/asthma/food allergies in my twins. Would I have been able to avoid antibiotics, NSAIDS, doctors' appointments, and days of feeling unwell? Maybe. However, I stop myself from dwelling on what could have been and take a moment to appreciate the knowledge I possess NOW. I am grateful for the work I have done to essentially mitigate my migraines, identify celiac disease, improve my immune system, balance my hormones, and offset nutrient deficiencies that occurred from twin pregnancy and years of breastfeeding. I am also grateful that, while my twins occasionally have asthma flare-ups or must avoid certain foods, they do not require daily medications, no longer struggle with eczema, and can live unrestricted lives despite their anaphylactic allergies.

My ultimate goal is to help you feel the same way. By sharing my knowledge and expertise, I aim to empower you to live the healthiest version of yourself.
